Add an MCP server

1. Find a server

Open MCPs → Discover in the app and search for a server, or browse the website directory. The app can search its curated catalog and the official MCP Registry.

2. Pick a destination

Choose the client and, where applicable, the project, scope, or configuration file. The selected destination determines which configuration MCP Linker will read or write.

3. Add the server

Some servers can be added directly from their result card. If a server needs configuration, open its details, review the connection type and fields, and replace any placeholders with real values.

4. Save and verify

Click Add server. If the save succeeds, the server is written to the selected destination. Check the client and destination if you do not see it where expected.

Credentials and placeholders

Required API keys or other values must be supplied before saving. Do not share secrets in screenshots or support requests. A server card marked Installed is installed in the currently selected destination; changing the destination can show a different installed state.
