# Sem MCP server

Sem provides local code navigation, structural diffs and impact analysis through stdio MCP. Requires Node.js/npm and an existing Git checkout; no Sem API key. The first query may create an index. The full server also exposes validation tools that can execute commands. Use trusted repositories and client approval controls; SEM_REPO is not a sandbox.
